« on: June 05, 2022, 12:28:48 AM »
Took the wife to the movies something I rarely do. Top gun and it was a good show. But on the way there stopped for gas. regular was 4.89 a gallon but the car takes premium. 6.09 a gallon!!!!! Told my wife for what the movie cost and gas and that didnt even include snacks and stopping at burger king after, we could have bought the movie and probably a couple more

Uh-huh..there will be a lot more vehicles, spending even more idle time this summer.  Gas prices haven't tanked yet ! (no pun intended)

If it doesn't burn regular, it doesn't live here. ;D

Neighbor across the street as a big red 4 door 4X4 diesel with big tires.  He parked it about a month ago, and now I'm not sure he still has it. There's a little Nissan in the driveway now.

stock it would burn it. They recomend premium but say that you can get by with regular on a stock tune. My car has headers, bigger throttle body cam and ported heads. I had it dyno tuned and they tuned it for Premium and only premium. It was the cost of another 100 hp. Amazingly even at near 600 hp (510 to the rear wheels) its completely docile to drive and gets 25mpg going down the highway. So actually my truck burning regular and getting 18 is more expensive to drive. As is my wrangler getting 16.

I almost screwed up. I though with gas prices going up and facing possible rationing a guy might be better off with a 1/2 ton diesel that gets near 30mpg. I thought biden would at least step in and keep diesel prices down for the truckers. I even sat down with the dealer and worked out a trade for a new ram rebel diesel. Lucky for me it was a 3 month wait and i saw biden putting it to the truckers and canceled it. I usually get a new truck every 3 years and i told my wife after i canceled it that with this economy tanking ill just keep what i have. its a 2020 with 35k on it and it will be paid off in 2 more months. Even (i hate to admit it) thought about picking a used small car for the wife to drive to work but anything worth buying is well north of 10k and you can buy alot of gas even at 5 bucks a gallon for 10k.
