An answer for the climate..
« on: July 20, 2022, 02:33:50 AM »
An answer for the climate that almost everyone if they were honest can appreciate.

The greenies claim there is too much carbon in the air.  Of course, we normal people dispute that...
However, there is a way of taking that carbon out of the air and putting it to good use..very good use that we
(the world) may very much need in a very short time.

The answer is in something called "carbon farming".. It entails taking carbon from the air and putting it back into the soil.  Of course, we all know that carbon is one of the building blocks of life.
    Here is a quote from an "environmentalist" publication, one that may not be so politically invested.;

   " Agriculture and Climate Change
Agriculture and forestry practices account for at least 24 percent of global carbon emissions and 9 percent of U.S. carbon emissions (1). Under current land management practices, agriculture remains one of the leading contributors to global carbon emissions. However, it is the only economic sector with the potential to transform itself from a net carbon emitter to a net sink using practices broadly classified as “carbon farming”. These practices can help remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and store it for long periods of time in soil, microorganisms, and plant matter. Climate scientists estimate that 200 billion tons of carbon dioxide would need to be removed from the atmosphere to halt and begin to reverse the effects of climate change (2). The world’s agricultural soils can meet this challenge if change the way we grow food (3)."

Desertification is on the march across the planet. Deserts, from the Gobi to the Sahara and Mojave are growing, along with all the lesser deserts.  The Negev desert in Israel is the only desert which is receding; due to wise Israeli management.
These deserts could be reclaimed, and current farmlands be vastly improved, by proper carbon farming.

The stickler?  Well, the huge farming operations which make their fortunes by depleting the soil, will have to switch gears a bit...the cash grubbing dick-taters around the world will have to want to do something worthwhile for their people..and the enviro-whackos would have to turn from their political aims, an ddo something that is actually worthwhile.

BY use of carbon farming, we could continue our petroleum based economy, and since the soil is eager and willing to absorb the carbon and turn it into food, the world would prosper.

  How's chances?

The US government should build desalinization plants in California and even northwestern Mexico.  Make fresh water from sea water to pump to the US southwest and northwestern Mexico.  They have already dried up the Colorado river with people using water from it from Nevada, Utah, Arizona, even as far east as New Mexico and southern California and northwestern Mexico.  Now the Colorado river is just a little stream going into Mexico.

The reason I mentioned northwestern Mexico is the Gulf of California doesn't have a high wave problem that can occur off California.  It would be easier to use solar panel that float on the water to desalinate the water.  Mexico would get some water and the rest would go to the US southwest.  Saudi Arabia is doing this now off the Red Sea.  The plan to put thousands of acres of floating solar panels in the Red Sea to make fresh water and power for western Saudi Arabia.  They have plenty of sun, just like the Gulf of California and they will be able to have enough fresh water to grow food plants along the coast.  They currently have to import a lot of their food.  Growing their on will help them as well as others.  Also, they use far more power in the daytime to stay cool than at night.  Solar is their solution for that.

I also think we should grow vegetables in year round greenhouses to free up farmland for forest or grazing animals.  More forests would remove CO2 out of the air.  Then growing plants in the desert would take even more CO2 out of the air.  We also do not need to grow corn for ethanol for vehicles.  This is kind of stupid idea only to get midwestern farm vote.

I say we set up a high tower and anyone who is behind climate change and want to do something useful for the environment thus reducing their carbon footprint should jump off. That should do it...

Israel started 50 years ago, to start reclaiming the Desert lands.  Much of the Negev is reclaimed now, producing fruits and vegetables for home use as well as export.
Rather a redux of the exodus, when they cultivated an arid wasteland..into a "land of milk and honey".

This could be done around the world, if just the socialists, communists, religious terrorists and politicians...along with dick-taters and the money hungry, would just step back and away for a few years, and let some honorable people have at it !

Israel has nuclear power.  They use it during off peek periods to desalinate water for the desert.  This is what Saudi Arabia is going to do with floating solar panels.

Solar panels get hot, so they use the excess heat off them to desalinate their water.  Kill two birds with one stone.  The Red Sea does not have a lot of storms or big waves, so the solar panels should work fine there.  Also Saudi Arabia has a long coastline along the Red Sea.

That is why we should do the same with permission with Mexico in the Gulf of California to provide power and water to our Southwest and their Northwest.

Now as far as global warming.  Even if global warming wasn't man made, we still need to wean off power from fossil fuels.  Like I said, they are eventually going to run out, especially oil.  Weaning off oil will for everyone will hurt the Arabs and Russia mostly.  There is plenty of natural gas, especially in hydrates in the Bermuda Triangle.  10,000 year supply.

Doing away with fossil fuels isn't
practical at all in this point in history.
Maybe decades down the road.
All this rambling about the US polluting
isn't doodley doo. As long as places
like india and southeast asia and
everywhere south of the border is
practically dumping their refuse in
the environment including their toxic
emissions, all of our conservation
remedies are for naught because
other's pollution makes it a wash.
I've also not heard of any feasible
solutions on how to deal with all
the toxic byproducts from manufacturing
all this "green " technology.
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

Here...nearly we all know the "green revolution" is a bunch of dog poo..and we also know the leftists are eating
it up, even the few that know better.
However, desertification is a fact, due to a variety of factors, most of which are poor farming practices.
  https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/sep/02/desertification-barren-solution-famine-agriculture

This could be corrected, but it would take as much capital and determination as the clowns are putting into
   the bogus "climate change" hoodoo...

Even if desertification were not happening, we are faced with a growing population...and starving days ahead for much of the world..along with Americans and Canadians having to "tighten our belts".

Interesting that the carbon farming quote referenced is from a site that is about climate change. :)

"Green America and our members pressure major corporate polluters to take the climate crisis seriously."

The Cern particle accelerator in France has magnets that are 200,000 times more powerful than the earths magnetic field.  Every time it starts up the radiation shield of earth sometimes splits in two.  I causes severe UV radiation to come through.  This causes heat waves and real climate change.  Too much carbon dioxide will take years to change the climate if it even does.

Only one person is watching this and it is BPEarthwatch.  He has been banned from several places, but what he says makes sense.  He also watches for solar flares.  He has noted every time there is a solar flare we have an earthquake somewhere.  The flare puts pressure on the earth.  The sun is 1 million times bigger than earth and a solar flare is huge.

We should be watching the sun more and shut down the Cern particle accelerator before we force everyone in the world to buy electric cars when they are not ready to meet or exceed what a gasoline car can do and cost.

You have a point DD..  Nobody truly knows what will happen due to the Cern accelerator.  Curiously though,
the very summer they fire it up..Europe turns into an oven !
