I have to say, the only time I have ever drew my concealed carry gun was on a pit bull.
Same here. Neighbor's pit got loose and aggressively started barking, snarling, drooling, and snaping at me, in my driveway, 80 yards from its own yard. I "Perp Walked" that pit back to its yard and knocked on their door. The dog came within a hair's breadth of crossing that "invisible line", multiple times. I was drawn and ready to end it right there in the street, with justification.
On another occasion, the same pit got loose and killed a huge raccoon, in broad daylight. The coon had been minding its own business inside a culvert under their driveway. The boy-owner could not get his pit off of the dead coon. My spouse heard the commotion from our porch, went over there to investigate, found the boy in unfortunate circumstance, and fortunately the dog had its sights set on that coon. The dog would periodically stop shaking the coon, "come up for air", bloodied, look at us, and almost smile as if thinking "I got this". I had to upend a garbage can over the coon so the boy could get the dog inside. What a mess. Too bad for the coon that day.
