I'm glad the worlds richest man, Elon Musk, is against population control. He said we need children and young adults to work and pay the taxes. If you don't have young people, you have to rely on robots for manufacturing or other work. Musk said depopulation, especially in western countries will lead to their destruction.
Musk is not the typical rich elitist. He wants more oil drilling because he realizes there are 200 million cars and trucks in America that have to keep moving, as well as diesel trains and all the planes. He said he is trying to help by making electric cars and solar panels, but he is also pragmatic.
He is quirky, and has kids by 3 women, but he works 16 hours a day and hardly sleeps. His first wife wrote his biography, which I read, and they divorced because he was never home. He slept on a cot on Tesla's factory floor helping work out manufacturing problems. He now lives in a 20' x 20' home in Boca Chica, Texas where he has built the huge rocket called Starship and the Starship manufacturing facility. He wants to colonize Mars in case something happens to earth. This rocket will have 16 million lbs of thrust vs 7.5 million of Saturn V. He has already test fired it. He plans the first test launch between Sept 1st and Nov. 30. This is the time frame the FAA gave him.
Wish other wealthy people would realize at the very least, we need population replacement not control.
In the early 1800's and in many 3rd world countries, only half the kids reached adulthood, thus they had a lot of kids. Now that childhood disease has mostly been eliminated, 3rd world countries are having overpopulation. All western countries are in decline already. China will loose about 30% of their people by 2050 due to the long term one child policy. India is slowing down because of industrialization. Sub-Sahara Africa is exploding. Latin America has slowed down.
