I like to support the bolt carrier between two pieces of wood like 3/4" pine leaving 1/4" space between them so the square end of the pin has a space to come out into when you drive it out using a small pin punch.  Some of these are tough to get out but they do finally do come out.  Its good to take the bolt carrier apart to clean out the firing pin bore there is a lot of crud in there as you will see.  I'm glad to see your taking it apart most just try to soak it and they think its ok because the firing pin appears loose but it can bind and slam fire at anytime.  Do it right and besafe!!       BigBill

tooking the pin out it was tuff. am i correct that its just the pin in there and no spring. free floating??

Rich;  There is no spring on the firing pin in sks's its a floating pin.

I would check inside the gas tube too some guns I have checked still have cosmoline still inside them too.  These are one of the most reliable guns that I have ever owned as long as its cleaned and lubed correctly.
