"No ordinary dog"..
« on: October 30, 2022, 11:38:49 PM »
Just coming toward the end of the book entitled, NO ORDINARY DOG, by Will Chesney, Navy Seal (copyright@ 2020).. The book has powerful endorsements by Mike Thornton, Seal and medal of honor recipient, also by Rob O'Neill, the Seal who caused UBL to assume room temperature.
On pages 229-230 Will explains the disposition of the Black Hawk chopper that c4ashed during the operation...

" A couple members of our team, including the explosives expert, rigged the downed helicopter with timed charges, so we could blow it up. For both practical and public relations, you never wanted to leave a piece of equipment behind after a mission, especially one as valuable as a Black Hawk helicopter."

Keeping in mind, our disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, when many billions of dollars in equipment and supplies were left behind for the Taliban, there seems to be a peculiar stench concerning that whole operation.

Personally, I can think of no other reason for this action (or inaction), other than the honchos in the Pentagon, wanted to present the Taliban with a tremendous gift.  ..But we should keep in mind, the buck stops in the Oval office..

I mentioned the book I am just finishing, called .."No Ordinary Dog".. It tells the story of Navy SEAL, Will Chesney, who with his
Belgian Malinois dog "Cairo", was the dog handler involved in the raid that took out Osama Bin Ladin...or UBL as the SEALS referred to him..
Keeping that in mind, I searched the web for info on a personal friend and Marine veteran of Afghanistan.  Tim and his dog "Tigo",
also a Belgian Malinois served primarily with British forces there.  He and Tigo normally preceded the British troops on patrol..seeking out any hidden mines' bombs or IEDs.

Tim's Mom is my second cousin.

After Tim was discharged, he sought to bring Tigo home, when Tigo was too old to serve any longer.  The Marines remembered him, and when Tigo retired..he came to live with Tim.

Our legion post has honored Tim and Tigo with statuary of both in our little roadside park at the legion.  We also built a new barbeque shelter and dedicated it to Tigo.

BTW:  After his last deployment and before discharge, Tim and Tigo worked on the presidential security team in Washington.

   Here is Tim's story..  enjoy..
