No #*&^% turkey for Christmas dinner this year
« on: December 20, 2022, 04:29:47 AM »
Our son-in-law is smoking a brisket and other good things like a ham, pinto beans, deviled eggs, mashed taters, etc. will be on the menu. Wife has promised an apple pie as requested by #1 grandson. Son is making cupcakes again like he did last year that all the GG kids went nuts for. My contribution will be in helping eat it up.

We're having a turkey breast only, dressing, cranberry sauce and rolls. Then on New Year's day we'll have a full size ham, perhaps yams, rolls and I dunno what else. No sweets as we're already fat enough around here. Besides as sweet as I am even sugar tastes bitter to me.  :o  ::)

Mom always made a turkey and a duck, some years later my brother bought a Turducken.
I have not had one for years and as far as that goes , I do not I have seen one in gocery stores for awhile.
I made baked pheasant a few times years back.

We will not be celebrating Christmas as a family gathering till the week-end after Christmas but the two of us are going to slow bake a beef roast and make up some cheesy potatoes on Christmas Day.

Happy eating and Marry Christmas to you all. 8)
