...And a Merry CHRISTmas to all...
« on: December 20, 2022, 02:46:09 AM »
May each and every one have a Merry CHRISTmas and/or Happy Hannukah..

"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring. forth a son. They shall call his name Immanuel;" which
is, being interpreted, "God with us."  (Matt 1:23)

Today is the Tenth Day of Christmas, and Orthodox Christmas is only 4 days away.

There used to be Orthodox congregation up here but it went away some time back.

There is what is now a Roman Catholic church, ( a large ornate, Onion Dome towers,)  former Orthodox church in a tiny town 20 miles from here in the boonies. (Town used to have a large milk and butter dairy but that closed forty years ago.)
Epiphany is on Orthodox Christmas Eve, so, Merry Tenth day of Christmas as this, Tis the season to be Jolly. 8)

Actually, when I refer to "orthodox', I m most often referring to the textual meaning of "orthodox".

..But no matter, Merry Christmas to those who are popularly known as orthodox..

I am listening to You're a Mean One Mister Grinch on the cable music channel, which surprisingly is still playing Christmas Music on Sounds of the Season channel.
I used to listen to them some times , with Christmas during the week and BINGO, at Twelve A.M. the next Sunday, the music changed away from Christmas Music.

There used to be two local information channels, TV bill board type, that played Christmas Music which was a different selection from the music channel ones, do not do that any more.
It is interesting to see who all had Christmas Music records , plus from some of the songs, there are three or four singers who still sing old school non-faith based songs in the old Sinatra, Martin style of jazz with Buble' and Connick Jr. being the best known.

There are Eight Days of Christmas left after today and I would bet some stores are already putting stuff for Valentine's Day, the day of which was named for St. Valentine who was executed on February 14, 0270 A.D.
Merry Fourth Day of Christmas.  8)
