Hooray for hiring quotas !
« on: January 26, 2023, 01:00:09 PM »
The USPS personnel in this area
are surely no strangers to incompetence
and apathy, but today, they broke their
own record.
Four (4) pieces of mail, and all delivered
in error.
The record breaker is addressed 7.9 miles
away,  and 1,701 numbers off the correct
house number

Hooray for 21st century incompetence  ! !  :(

Well not "as bad" today.
Only 1 letter in the box wrong, and
only 16 houses away

Can't help but think making personal
cell phone conversation while working
a no no would help cut the mistakes
drastically

My mail carrier has VERY heated conversations on her cell while delivering the mail to the wrong address. She was bitten by a dog a couple streets over and USPS stopped delivery for a month to investigate vicious dogs in the neighborhood. I'm sure her screaming at the door had NOTHING to do with the dog biting her. I've considered biting her myself as she wakes me up from my afternoon nap on a regular basis....

As I mentioned elsewhere here, prior to the last storm, our USPS service was not too bad, usually got m mail before noon. Since then, it seems, the mail could arrive anytime..

Before the libraries closed up for
epidemic hoopla, most every one
had postal delivery trucks and
city vehicles that would stop in
for a latrine break and nap of
several hours in the parking lot.
When the mail does get here,
it's usually right at dark past
the operating hours of the PO
Trash collection is pretty much
the same. Used to be a kind of
isolated highway underpass
several of the trash trucks would
stop and congregate for their
beer break and nap

Victor Davis Hanson tells us we will find these problems of competence to do nothing but increase .  he top colleges are
accepting more poorly qualified applicants than ever.  Due to the postmodern philosophy being adopted by most colleges, they are choosing students, by their position on the "oppressed" scale, rather than the scale of intelligence
   and competence.
He tells of how these schools are now so twisted, that they boast of turning away the most qualified individuals.
He told about one Ivy league school that had quite a number of applicants who had a perfect SAT score.

Now, a perfe coming on linect SAT score is rare, and they had a number to deal with That school boasted that they refused 70% of those applicants, while taking in a large number of eminently unqualified people.

They are graduating% some very unqualified people...and since they are "Ivy League", they get hired right into top positions.

Hanson says we haven't seen the end of it yet, with airlines down for days, utilities failing, food absent from shelves.
These shortages and service interruptions will only increase, so be prepared.

Now with AI being online, the less bright people may use that in place of genuine study, so hang on..it's coming !

Just like the recurring problems in the old Soviet Union, where people were promoted by politics, rather than competence.

Do to ''hiring quotas'', friend of mine, since retired, was a RO at one of the largest cities here in Ohio, police depts. Told me, they figured that training costs doubled for an applicant they ''had to hire''.
We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!!Remember(12/7/41)(9/11/01) gypsyman

I liked my mail man and he has since been replaced with a mailwoman with golden hair and exceptional looks. Once in awhile I catch her and wave or converse a bit. Don’t tell my wife...

That's great that the mail carriers in that
area do what they're supposed to do, and
what they draw a paycheck for.
It's supposed to be that way everywhere
