HORMEL Chili Cheese Brew is the ultimate game day sipper
by Cristine Struble

For many football fans, food and beverages are at the heart of game day. Whether it is the tailgate or the at-home food spread, the bounty of deliciousness is as important as the winning drive. And, when the outcome is not as positive, all those tasty bites provide some solstice. With the new HORMEL Chili Cheese Brew, everyone’s favorite dip has been transformed into a beer that is worthy of another pour.

HORMEL Chili Cheese Dip is a staple for many people’s game day celebrations. While the recipe is relatively simple, the flavor is bold. Whether paired with corn chips, served over a burger, or even eaten with a spoon, many people cannot get enough. It might even be that lucky food for the big game.

As Jason Hron, HORMEL Chili brand manager said, “Football season is just as much about the game as it is about delicious food and drinks, and the people you enjoy watching the game with. This year we were inspired to bring fans together and create something everyone can agree on – an irresistible sip that unites the best flavors of our famous HORMEL Chili Cheese Dip.”

The special HORMEL Chili Cheese Brew is a collaboration between Modist Brewing Co and HORMEL. For those unfamiliar with the Minnesota based brewery, Modist embraces creativity in the brewing process. While it focuses on technique, each offering brings a new beer experience. Whether these are alternative beers or just pushing the boundaries past the typical brew, pouring a cold one is always memorable.

With this special beer collaboration, the beer has captured the essence of the HORMEL Chili Cheese Dip. Although not a heavy, the American lager has some notes of savory spices and a touch of cheddar cheese. When combined with flaked corn and Pilsner barley malt, the flavor is quite sessionable. It becomes a great gameday beer and even better when paired with that iconic dip.

While this beer might be unexpected, it is a fun food and beverage pairing for the end of football season. It becomes a great conversation piece for parties. Why not set up some tasting glasses and the classic dip for everyone to try the special pairing.

Although this offering is limited, it could be the start of a great relationship. Why couldn’t there be a Skippy Peanut Butter beer or even some Black Label Bacon infused offerings. Thinking of the bacon idea, fast washing liquor is a huge trend. It could be the never food and beverage pairing on the shelf.

For anyone who wants to get a sip of this HORMEL Chili Cheese Brew, it can be purchased online at www.HormelChiliCheeseBrew.com while supplies last. The four-pack is priced at $24. It will be shipped in time for the Big Game on February 12.

And, even if you do not get your hands on this special beer, everyone can make the HORMEL Chili Cheese Dip. The iconic recipe is available online and is always a winner for the Big Game.

I hope it's better than their canned chile which sucks.

I actually like there chili and prefer the one without beans. I had jalapeno ice cream at the tobasco outlet in Louisiana and surprising to me, found it to be good.

LOL, back in 2016, I actually searched the internet for every possible brand of canned chilli available.
I eventually ended up with . at least six different brands . not counting those I got at a local grocery store.

A few were the best I ever had. the rest OK.
I got both with and without beans when I could.
Will not do it again as it would cost at least twice as much now.

So, In Your test where did HORMEL come in place? I find it to be very good.

Hormel is not bad.  I just kick it up a bit with Tobasco sauce.

Can't see all the praise for the odd
flavored crap this last decade.
Kinda goes with the current trend
of slathering condiments and/or
spices on something to the detriment
of the flavor of the dish

Canned chili, it’s fast, cheap and good. I’ve had probably half a dozen or more cans in my life and they served the purpose. I have noticed that you are a culinary expert :).

I would not mind trying the chilli beer if it did not cost $24 a six pack.

This list does not agree with my choices and there are two there I could not get way back in 2016 BUT, now I have had good meatless chilli, but Amys just OK and Skyline is what you put on hot dogs, not regular chilli.

Trader Joes, Gardein, Ketle and Fire and Packo's are the four I have never had.
Trader Joe's gets good reviews on many type of packaged items they sell so I will drive down to the one we have here and try it.
I may try Packo's because it sounds like chilli from a Tex-Mex area.
The second list below is closer to my taste buds than the first.
