Used shotgun prices
« on: March 14, 2021, 03:47:37 PM »
I decided to have a look-see on Gun Broker for prices of early Remingto model 31 and 870.

Averaging the prices for the 4 EARLY 870s listed, they average over 900 dollars, none a trap gun.
Oddly of the 15 model 31s I checked, all styles,  they averaged only approx. 500 dollars

On the 870's,maybe it's a combination of today's social climate and Remington's bankruptcy driving up the prices? A clean 30" full choke model 31 will bring $400 around here all day long. doesn't surprise me that much that their bringing $500 online.

That's insane money for an 870. I wish I had one to sell.

Locally I have a hard time finding anything to buy,  much less compare prices.  My goto mossbergs aren't on the market.  But I have not seen drastic increases in the classic side by sides I collect.  Have actually seen more of them on the market.  I think they are giving up the classics to purchase more defensive types.

I have to admit I've been staying out of the local gun shops lately since the craziness started.

I try to stay off Kittery's website, last time I looked at it I went down there and bought too many guns. I've gotten some good scores on uncle henrys too.

I haven't really put any effort toward
looking, but what I've seen is too
high for me.
Probably won't be back "right " for a
couple of years

Was going to get my son a Remington shotgun for his 18th birthday but then the rona panic hit and Remington went under.   The new RemArms company was supposed to start up 870 production March 1st, but I haven't seen any new 870's on any shelves yet or even mentioned for that matter.

Probably won't for a long time.
Whenever I'm at a place that will usually
have such a thing, I'll look out of curiosity.
Not much to look at around here. They're
getting things in, but you have zero time to
look things over, and have to be ready to
buy immediately

Just did a check on Remington 870s and 31s.
Only two 31s on Gunbroker, same gent and he wanted 700 for both, even though one looked to show less wear than the other.
The 870s rough average price 500 dollars, with few below 400 and the bids were still open. 8)
