Grrrrr-------printers
« on: February 05, 2023, 04:07:46 AM »
I have a Epson and it has been problematic from the get go. At first it was getting it to stay connected. Son finally got that problem solved or the printer just gave up and decided to work like it was supposed to. Then it got to where if it sat a few days unused it wouldn't print and the heads had to be cleaned, sometimes twice, before it would print. Now i have just made two attempts to print with it and it does everything right except there is nothing on the paper when it comes out. Ink supply is OK. I swear if I ever get these last expensive cartridges used up I'm going to take it out and shoot it. My son had the same model of printer that had the same problems as mine. It's already gone. The only reason mine isn't in the landfill is I hated to waste the ink.

Edited to add: Sorry, shaky hands had me on the wrong forum and I didn't catch it. This should be in the Pot Bellied Stove section. I need to to go take my shaky pills.

Actually it prolly should be in an obscure forum way down near the bottom of the forum list for Computer and internet related issues. But since you intended it to be in the PBSF I'll move it there.

I quit printers that use ink a long time ago for the reasons you mention. I have only used laser printers for a long time now.

Thanks. As no one seems to go to the obscure forums anymore I wanted to vent my feelings where everyone could see them.  ;D

I'm trying to figure out what I would do with a printer if I had one. :-\

Stay away, far, far away , from any of the new Canons, I had an MP830 , it was great, it stopped working as a seal broke inside.
I called on a phone, Canon, and got a new Pixma 5000 series, piece of feces.
Ink cartridges that used to cost forty bucks for large pack are now seventy bucks and this SOB uses twice as many as the old one, plus the old one had the ability to do a fax and this one does not.

It cost less than 100 dollars but I have bought it several time over in ink you get what you paid for.
Butt kicker is, it is cheape rto print black and white using full color inks than just using the dedicated black ink.
