Cuvee coffee

I received some Cuvee coffee
bags ( like tea bags) a little over
a month ago in a box of stuff
from the local ( COC ? Or whoever?)
and I finally got around to trying it.
Hate to say, but it's not really good
to me at all. It has a flavor as
if somebody when around to all
the floosy coffee bars and gathered
their old grounds, and dried and
repackaged them to try and get
the last little bit of brownness
out of them. From what I understand,
this is supposed to be a premium
coffee from the san francisco of
Texas, and is supposed to be right
at the top of the heap.
Sorry.  Not even close.
I have some of the cheapest store
brand instant here that is way better
and closer to properly brewed
coffee. This is more like some boutique
tea or something
I'm glad I didn't have to buy it.
It's pretty expensive from what I understand

Folders made some teabag size coffee bags in individual aluminum pouches that were pretty good. When I still hunted I kept some in my day pack.

I don't know if they still make'em.

They have the little foil packs of
instant I have that are pretty good.
I carry a couple of those if I go
way back in the sticks and have
a canteen cup or metal cup to
boil water in

I think that stuff I tried was aimed at
the current batch of "coffee " drinkers
that have a few drops of coffee in their
hot milkshakes
I had a boss a few years back that had
a 6 or 7 dollar cup of starbutts coffee
milkshake every morning

And yes,  they do.
Saw em earlier. Stuff like that in general
is getting harder to find. About half the
coffee display is those little plastic cup
doo dads for the special machine.
I guess if I live long enough, I'll probably
have to special order me a hundred pound
sack of regular coffee just to be able to
have what I want

I will just do without coffee if I have to use instant. I love coffee but never found a brand of instant that filled the bill. So far I have seen no shortage of regular coffee around here. When working I had a quart thermos with me. When hunting I just did without until I was back to where I could make real coffee.

I usually have a cup of the Keurig type coffee every afternoon in cool weather and have become stuck on Wide Awake Coffee Company's breakfast blend. After my last Keurig maker that was around one year old suddenly bit the dust around two years ago I replaced it with a 20 buck single cup knockoff that is still going.

  Perhaps they are not all alike, but I tried couple varieties of coffee in the bag..both were about as Ranger found them.
  I found the same with hot chocolate in bags..ugh !

   I am pleased with my Keurig machine, especially since I only want 1 cup at a time....and I want it fresh each time.
  I have found however, that those cups are now being made by everybody and his brother.

     I have tried many brands, and found that you can't skip on quality.  Don't even 'try' the off-the-wall brands.
   Buy only cups from a leading coffee provider.  Keurig, Green Mountain and other top brands.
 
  recently, I fell for a 12 pack of something that claimed Caribbean flavor.. even displayed a pirate ship on the package.  It tasted like something that had been used a couple times already...I threw the other 11 cups away.

  Lately, I am using Tim Horton's coffee, both regular and dark.  Tom Horton's is the overwhelming coffee chain around here.  Named after the Canadian NHL hockey player who started the business.. I buy the big boxes of
  cups at wally world...but they can also be ordered from Amazon.

Try Taster's Choice instant coffee. It's the ONLY coffee I drink. Most seem to agree that it's the best of the instant coffees out there.

I have had my time trying instant coffees..and I must admit, Taster's Choice was the best I found; richer more flavor
  filled than the others.

Tasters Choice is good stuff
Instant is nothing but coffee with the
water removed, so quality dried coffee
will rehydrate into quality "wet" coffee
Your water has a good bit to do with it too.

Just me-  if I'm tired and cold ( especially
cold) a decent cup of instant is the
nectar of the gods

I tried it---once. Water is not my problem with instants as you can't tell the difference between it and all the bottled water that people haul home. I have never found an instant that tastes as good as fresh made. Ya'll are welcome to my share.

Speaking of coffee, it's almost time to go make my afternoon cup. This is a good afternoon for one too. The clouds have gotten heavy and the stiff northeast wind has become rather chilly.

Edited to add: That cup of coffee is looking better and better. It's now snowing and not messing around about it. Weatherguy said there was a slight chance of rain.

Cuvee coffee bags ar from Texas, and if you like your coffee dark roast type, from what I have found the bags are a mix of Kona and Jamaican Blue Mountain, both light types of coffee.
I spent a lot of money for a bag of Blue Moutain and was greatly disappointed.

Some of the reviewers have said coffee bags  are OK for motel coffee, but not as good as ground coffee.

Instant coffee , 5hat is out there, has changed drastically in the past thirty years; I read a coffee magazine when it was still at the book store and Hills Brothers was the top instant 25 years ago, now it is not stocked here any more, neither are Sanka and Yuban.

Tasters Choice and Nescafe are both from Nabisco now, and I by chance found a European instant, Jacobs, at a clearance store.
Better than most and equal to the best as what is in major grocery stores, so now I found an online coffee shop and buy a lot of my instant coffees from it; overseas brands can be just different or better depending on brand.

I got two, 2.2 kilo bags of espresso beans from South Africa, excellent coffee, with shipping for a little over 8 dollars a pound with monetary conversion.
