Ummm.....Yeah.

"There are no known large asteroids which have any significant chance of hitting the Earth," Chodas assured us.

Y'all might want to catch a B movie called "Don't Look Up"
Yes, it's fictional, and supposed to be an ironically funny film, but there's way too much truth to the story line.

The Tunguska event (occasionally also called the Tunguska incident) was an approximately 12-megaton explosion that occurred near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River in Yeniseysk Governorate (now Krasnoyarsk Krai), Russia, on the morning of June 30, 1908.

The shock wave from that one, would have killed a lot of people.

Now where a meteor hits makes a difference, populated area serious problems, large body of water possible tsunami, but I have often wondered what if one the size of cooking range or there abouts, hit in say the peat bogs of the U.K or swamps of Florida, or Northern Minn.

The soil would reduce shock waves, but how big of hole I wonder it would leave.
