I've got one of the model 677's.  I'm getting to really like the piece.  It was made just before the Taurus buy out, and is fininshed in a quasi-blue.  The fixed sites are a little low and right, but it groups as good as my colt agent.  It really handles the .357 loads well too.  If rou don't like the factory grips, CDNN has some Siles grips made for a Taurus that ALMOST fit.  They are close enough not to notice for daily ankle carry on duty.
Fear is but a stepping stone on the foot path to Glory.

Have owned a Rossi 971 in .357 for several years.  Has 6" barrel and quite accurate with both .38 Special  .357 mag. ammo.  Excellent gun at the right price.  My wife has owned a model 68 in .38 Special with a 2" barrel that has the same recommendation.
