want to look gun stupid to me
« on: March 02, 2023, 09:24:00 AM »
Had one today. He stopped over with my son in law and was pretending he was a gun expert. He told me glocks are junk and ruger makes a much better semi out 9mm. That is about as bad as the idiots that claim model 700s are dangerous. After he left i texted him and told him to never bring that idiot back in my yard.

I don't know. Just the other day I went to a range with my Glock 19 and a new Taurus G3C that I just bought from Bass. Took 2 boxes of Federal 147 grain flat point with me to try out. The Glock has about 1500 rounds through it. The G3C brand new. Had two FTF stove pipes with the Glock and not one single problem with the Taurus. Also took my Ruger LCP 380 with me and all I had was Herters 95 grain flat point. Not a single issue. This was my first problem with my glock in a long time.  >:(

Barring ammo issues, 99% of Glock 9mm failure to feeds is a lose grip, or a limp wrist, and no I'm not guessing, and I didn't read that somewhere, and the 17 was the worst.

When the Glock pistols started hitting the police and sheriffs' offices in my area, I was responsible for training the officers, both street, and tactical.
With a firm grip, and a stiff wrist, they are as reliable as it gets. And yes, I'm also a Glock armorer.

They're far from the most accurate, but they're accurate enough for fightin, and their their forte is, they'll feed just about anything.

Yeah I'm thinking this problem was a magazine problem. Changed it out and fed perfect.

I made fun of'em when they first came out, and would intentionally jam'em when doing zero checks just to mess with the officers carrying'em.
Then I went to an armorers school and put a couple a thousand rounds through one. I didn't buy one until they came out with the Glock 21s and bought 2. My line of work required dependable penetration and the 45acp ain't there, and the 21s are huge so that didn't work.
Then the Glock 23 in 40S&W hit the market. Carried one of those for 3 or 4 years and into retirement. Great fightin pistols.

My Glock works very well, with minimal failures to feed.  On the other hand, my S&W 642, has never had a failure to feed. ;) ;D

I have alot of cheap glock knock off mags. They work but if im carrying one or have one loaded for a house gun I ALWAYS use glock mags. Id bet if you asked everyone that had a jam with a glock what mags were in it 90 percent of them would be running some aftermarket mag when it did jam.

Well I guess I am not one of the 90 percent as you say because all my magazines are Glock. I still don't know for sure if that was the problem only time will tell.

my only malfunctions have been either because of cheap mags or my own ammo making. I farted around a bunch trying to shoot 357 swcs out of 9s because i had so many casted and gave my son in law my last 38. Some glocks would run them some not. Had a few also with 29s and 20s because they tend to be seating dept critical. Ill challenge anyone to come over with good ammo and glock mags or even magpuls and make one of mine screw up. Ive ran 17s and 23s and probably others well over a 1000 rounds without cleaning and that using dirty cast bullets. Even did the 1000 round test with my latest almost glock. Its a psa dagger compact thats a glock clone. bottom line is there the best selling guns in the world and used by more police depts across the world then all the others combined. All for a good reason. They just run like the energizer bunny. Sure isnt becasuse there pretty. Like dee it took me a while to come around. I though who the hell would want something that ugly when i can buy a 1911. Today i have 4 times more glocks in the safe then i do 1911s and honestly probably will never carry a 1911 for serious work again.
