I like my Varget loads, 165-168 should do just fine.

Other than the 168's, try the 150's for hunting, and 155's for targets.  You don't need the 168's on the range until you pass about 400 yds.  Think about 4064 with the 150-155's, 45-46gr.  Work up.  You could just work up one load for everything, say 150's, match the bullet to the game.  Ballistic tips for varmints and casual targets, SP's for deer, MatchKings or AMax for targets, and X-bullets or FailSafe for elk.   Never have to change the sights!

I like Hodgdon's Varget, too. I have a Rem 700 Varmint Syn (lefthand) & last Sat I put three in a hole....c to c measurement was 3/8th of an inch. 1 in 12 bbl; Norma case; Fed 210m primer; 46grs powder; Hornady 165 Spire-Point. Looks very promising. BTW, the range was 100yds. jd45.

90% of the shooting will be just target shooting.
The rifle is a savage 10fp-le2 http://www.savagearms.com/10fple2.htm
it has a twist rate of 1-10

You can get more guidance from a few copies of Precision Shooting magazine than weeks on the web.  Those folks have it down.
