Deputy,

It sounds like the Nikon Monarch is what you are looking for.  The Golds are great, but kinda heavy, especially given their 30mm tubes.

In the monarch, take a look at the 3.5x-10x-50mm, the 4x-12x-40mm, or a myriad of other magnification and objective combinations.  One of the many reasons that I like the Monarchs is that they have a nice rubber eye piece - not that I ever need it because the eye relief was plenty for the caliber that it was on.

Also, the new Leupold VX-IIIs have about the same eye relief as before - you may want to check those out too, especially given that their glass is (apparently) much better now.

I have Nikon Monarchs, Bushnell 4200, 3200 and Zeiss Conquest.  I would take the conquest hands down.  I really like the others, but the more I use the conquest the better I like it.

Hey there small world it is indeed! were is my free testing scope! lol.
longwinters, i have had 2 zeiss conquest and both had had to be returned the first woudnt tract and the one the the lens  came apart on me in 23 rounds! i cant afford that on a hunt on televison sorry!  no leupolds for me either i have a couple of nice 4200's i like but i need eye relief, i like the monarch too but i like the gold side focus and the moa  of a 30mm tube, i would love a monarch gold in a 3.5 x12 oh how nice it would be!, heck i might just end up with another swarvoski, but so far the gold is in the running until i can see the burris euro diamond series!

Deputy, that is really tough luck to have on 2 scopes.  My conquest is on a Sako 7mm.  I have a buddy that has one on his Sako 300wsm and he likes it better than all of the scopes I have mentioned as well as his Kahles.  But if, like you, I had 2 that were bad I would look else where also.
