I called Legacy Sports and they said the don't recommend shooting +P loads in the gun, it was intended for cowboy loads. So I guess that answers my question. I still think a 250gr or 300gr standard colt load out of that 24" barrel will bring down a deer out to 150yrds.
My son,dad and me were out shooting it yesterday evening, and we all were hitting a milk jug out at 100yrds holding off hand so I think its more then accurate to do the job. We were shooting Black Hills 250gr cowboy loads pushing 1000fps but I think I can load them a little faster then that and still be safe, this load is at the bottom of the colt standard load.
I think after I buy a 45LC in a pistol I'm going to find another one of these Puma's in 38/357 16" or 20" barrle for my oldest boy to shoot, the 24" barrle is a little heavy for him but he still shoots it good . He's in love with my 45LC Puma
