The push is on..

The push is on..to eliminate AM radio, and of course with it..most conservative voices.

They had best design some sort of modifier to attach to the system, since nation alerts and other important messages can handled
    best by AM..

All part of the Commie plot..

I've listened to talk radio on AM off and on for years, while driving for work.  There are also some Christian radio stations on AM.  AM is cheaper for many to go on the air.

Keep in mind, Bongino, Beck, Rush, Prager and others are/were on AM radio.

I rarely listen to FM, with the exception of some Christian broadcasting.  I don't bother with FM, because it is chiefly music.

Beyond the Christian broadcasting, there is little to learn on FM..

I listen to AM most of the time; now that we have an AM Album Rock station I listen to FM far less.
Classical Music is the main thing I listen to on FM.

When I used to travel a lot at late night , past 10 PM, AM station were far, far, far better to listen for radio shows.
Sadly radio theater has pretty much disappeared.

The electrical interference can be defeated but it cost money to put such things in automobiles; the Corvette with its plastic body was one giant radio interence vehicle but they installed fuctions to nullify it.

now that you mention interference , it brought back memories of how  annoying sparkplug static was on AM radio .

AS Bob said;  " The electrical interference can be defeated but it cost money to put such things in automobiles; the Corvette with its plastic body was one giant radio interence vehicle but they installed fuctions to nullify it."

The McBammer spoke;  " now that you mention interference , it brought back memories of how  annoying sparkplug static was on AM radio"

We found ways to beat that interference, with the cost of EV, surely there is a simple answer to the problem.

I would be more inclined to suspect a plot by government design.

Before you laugh at the suggestion, look what a colossus they have built on the "climate change' lie, the Russian dossier lie...and how they have weaponized the in-justice department !

Cutting off AM will also cut off a lot of remote rural areas who also don't get cell, internet, FM or cable. I recently bought an old truck with a broken radio, so I've been looking for a replacement and alot of them don't have AM anymore.

(I really just need a new wiring harness, but for the price of an OEM harness I can get a cheap low-end dash filler with a new harness.)
