Alaska in the Desert

:D Howdy folks.  Been checkin' in from time to time to see how you're doin' in the snow.  Hot as heck over here in the world's largest sand box...

I brought several cans of Blacktail Deer meat over here for a taste of home.  Yesterday we dug a hole in the ground for the fire, put a metal grate over it, and cooked up a pot of deer (ok, beef too) chili.  It felt like moose camp all over again.

Surely that snow's gotta start meltin' soon.  I'm eager to hear about this Spring's bears.

Matt,

Spring has finally arrived here in St. Louis, MO, I have been getting ready for my spring Grizzly/Black bear hunt, I must admit I am getting tired of practicing the packing of all my gear. Do you have a dvd player over there, maybe I can send you some bear hunting video's? Hope you talking some good pictures, I am interested in seeing them.

Matt:  The flag arrived on Friday.  Thank you so much.  I though I had your email address in my book but not.  I took it right over to the elementary school for the teacher that is writting the guys that are over there for her to show the elementary kids.  She was thrilled.  She had to promise to get it back to me though! Thanks, again!

Snow - 2 feet in the past 2 days. Supposed to get one more foot today. Now I have 70' of 4 foot high snow in front of the boat.

My new BowTech has been shipped AGAIN.  The blue with silver streaks and chromes cams just wasn't going to do it. Maybe have it by Wednesday.

Be safe there!

armymp71 -- I sent you a PM with my address.  Bear DVDs would be great.  Most of the guys on my team hunt and we'll make a night of them.

Dave -- Glad the flag made it.  You can reach me at robert.eatman@salem.af.mil -- Guess they thought you were more flash than substance on the bow.  That or they thought Valdez was in California with all that chrome.  I guess with five feet of snow, I'll have to wait a while to check in on the bear stories.
