Winds of 45MPH today .Temps in the teens now.Hi temp tomorrow ,in the low 20s.
  I am starting to get real antsy to begin spring beaver trapping.Only problem is,the weather refuses to alow spring to come.I guess I am pushing it.Ice out in the north country is close to mid april at the earliest.
While the rivers,creeks and small ponds open earlier---the big lakes don't.
 So I guess I will just have to calm down,get the 330s ready,and wait for spring.
 Oh I almost forgot--Happy spring to all!

bog i'm in the same boat as you, can't wait for spring beaver season. i'm still driving the truck on the lakes so i have a feeling they won't start opening up for a while.  that's ok though, i get to remain in fishing mode for a little longer.

Ha Bog ya missed it spring was here when i fell thru  the frozen river with my snowshoes!  As i lay on my belly next to the hole in the ice fishing out my snowshoes i thought.........Ahhh it doesnt get any better than this,  open water, sun shining, open hole in ice and fishing for snowshoes  :-D .   So as you can see with you hiding in your cabin there you missed it all; the BIG SPRING BREAK UP! You know you wont  freeze if you go outside in the winter  Bog.  Im beggining to think your are a   (SNOWBIRD)   :roll:

Well it only got to 82 here yesterday.  A big cold front went through last night and the highs today plummeted to 73.  Oh well I guess I'll have to suffer through this cold. heh heh heh

What's this ICE of which you guys speak?

Seven degrees this morning Tom.  Its going to be awhile yet.  I'll probably be down in your neck of the woods working long before the ice goes out.  

What's this ICE of which you guys speak?

Wacky the main necessity in ice fishing unless it is the fish.  Hope to be doing that for three more weeks.

We already had spring here, it happened Saturday of last week.  Since then it has been in the 90's.  The only ice is in the glasses with the cold beverage.

Now it only gets worse here till late October.

Here in Mi. we have already had spring , 3 TIMES !!I'm sure we'll have winter one more time before we get our last spring . Really itchen to get out and pick some shrooms but with a foot or two of snow in the woods yet , it may be awhile .

just got back from south texas , kinda funny we had a b b q at my inlaws and everone had jackets on 70  degrees out and they was cold.
Dave those shrooms will make you see cross eyed :-D
