STRIKE! STRIKE! STRIKE!
« on: September 15, 2023, 09:22:54 AM »
So. . . . . .
Got a spare hundred thou to lay
down for a down payment on a
new vehicle?
Planning to fly overseas for that
second honeymoon?
Better check to see where the busses
are running.
Used to having a McSalty's combo
every day for a midday meal?
Hopefully your budget can stand
the $20 price tag
The plant where you've been working
for 25 years is closing and you were
starting at the new place next month?
Better amble on down to the community
college and learn some chinese phrases.

Welcome to the Great Depression II
Maybe J Bidet will start a WPA II to
appease the masses

This is why we need a constitutional amendment that says the federal budget should be balanced unless there is war or a national emergency.  The national emergency should also have at least 2/3rds of the senate vote as such, otherwise, balance the budget.

We also need a constitutional amendment to limit senators to two 6 year terms and congressmen to four 2 year terms.  Then maybe they won't have time to get rich but actually do real work while there.

Of course, close the border, get rid of free trade agreements that strip our industry, stay out of state's rights, and strickly follow the constitution.  Also get rid of about half the federal alphabet agencies, like welfare, education, energy, trim down the ATF and FBI, and the Justice Department which has become weaponized for which ever party is in control.  Have strict hiring practices within the Federal government to limit hires by political affiliation, every Dem hire should have a GOP hire and an independent hire.  This will keep the bureaucracies fair and balanced and not weaponized by one party.

Half the fed government could be eliminated.

Well, it is an idea. When I worked for the Federal Government and the military, it was uncommon for anyone to say what party they voted for or supported. That was some years ago now so I can't say how it is now.

Amend the constitution?   Open  a constitutional  convention?.....first thing they will do is gut or remove the the 2nd amendment....

Recent article in Forbes, Sept. 5 I believe, several economists have started using the term, Silent Depression. Basically, when the Great Depression was at it's worst, early 30's, people that had a job at least, were in better shape than the people working today. Your dollar back then, was worth more compared to costs. Gas was .10/gal. New house was $10,000, auto's were under $1,000. I truly hope I'm wrong, but I do believe the SHTF moment is'nt far off.

That would be the best way of handling the situation..but you and I both know..  The politicians have to lead such a move...

This country, and its over bloated government will collapse before they ever reduce spending or the size of government.  So many areas there is wasteful spending that could be cut. Just look alone what we send to other countries, and now billions still being sent to Ukraine. Look at the money spent on welfare, where many of them just choose not to work.  $40 billion a year spent on drug enforcement, and more people dying of overdose than ever. 13 to14 billion a year just to collect taxes. The list is endless.
Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants.    Wm. Penn

Automotive strike expanded today.

I guess all the assembly plants and
parts depots can be used to sort and
store the goods that will be necessary
to import from overseas when the
rest of our industries are moved out
of the country
At least the taverns and paraphernalia
shops will be thriving

Heard part of a discussion on the "news " about how
fast food workers doing traditionally entry level jobs
that have recently been demanding full-time career
type pay for their low level jobs may be replaced by
automation and AI starting in the larger franchises
such as McSalty's and Taco Smell etc.
Supposed to be already in the works

Around here taco hell and such are short handed even with high pay so automation is a good idea plus you have less chance of getting something (extra) on your food for being a racist white man...

They've already been putting "tv dinners " together
and packaging them for many years without human
involvement,  so I can see the point where fast food
will be fully automated
I can't help but wonder what the "burger flippers "
will do besides sitting at home thinking about how to spend
their gubmint monthly since they can't find employment
since there's no call for unskilled workers.
What will people that put half a dozen screws in a
car on an assembly line do for work?

So now I understand that the strikers are
asking for a 32 hour work week?
And still getting paid and credited towards
a full week's work?

There's a word for that that I'm not
going to post, but I guess things have
changed way way more than I had figured
on, and looks like anything goes in 2023
