Has anyone put a 50mm on a no. 1?  What highth rings did you have to use?

I don't own a Ruger #1, but I can tell you that mounting a 50mm Objective is not something that I would do.  Given that the barrel contour is in the shape that it's in, you would need high rings for even a 40mm scope.  If you want a 50mm scope, then I would certainly imagine that you would need super high rings.

Having had 2 of them and knowing how hard it is to get a scope spaced correctly in those rings I would say no to the idea. For a RUger number 1 the shorter and more compact the mounting tube on the scope the better.
