Sad day for me...
« on: January 18, 2024, 03:32:18 AM »
Just 2 days ago, I received a notification that my old Army buddy, who I visit every 3-4 years, had been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer.

This morning, I received an E-mail from his wife...she said Ken is at rest..gone home..

Ken was a solid Army buddy and solid citizen, up there in the Green Mountains of Vermont..  Lord, welcome him home...

Godspeed IG, my prayers for you.

When I used to make smart remarks to Dad about getting old, he used to say:  Just wait, you will see, you will see.
Now I know what he what making referrence to; in that manner I wish I was blind once again.  :(

  Thanks guys,,

At my age , I tend toi speak flippantly about my own mortality.  For instance, short of having an active daily newspaper, our local
Pennysaver prints obituaries...along with some school sports and hesps of advertisments.

I joke regularly, telling loved ones the only reason I even look inn the Pennysaver..is to see if my piucture is in there this week.

Why do I do that? I just hope it does soften the blow when I do go, and that it may shorten any grieving period thereafter.
