first catch!
« on: March 28, 2004, 06:35:43 AM »
a friend took me out yesterday morning, and I caught my first two on a flyrod.

the first was a 15+ inch rainbow on a dark elkhair caddis

the second (and two other hookups) was on a black wooly bugger. I am just starting to gain my composure.  :)
Cheers,

now I am hooked.

I duped a brown trout into taking my elk hair caddis fly tonight. It was only about 10 inches, but it was beautiful.

Addictive, isn't it? I haven't made it out with the fly rod yet, but I did just get a new blank in to build up. I think I'll be ready to head out locally in the next couple of weeks and try my luck. I'm also going to be going to Colorado in a month or so. Hopefully I can put a fly or 2 on the water then. Congrats on the trout!

Thanks.
I have been putting some serious time on the water lately, and it has paid off thus far. I am thankful that I can do this now cause in a couple of years when the kids come, I am going to put a hold on it!

I hope you get out in Colorado. Tell us how you did.
Cheers,
