Catholic Idol Worship
« on: February 17, 2024, 02:00:45 AM »
The Catholic organization has long ignored, and omitted part of the 10 Commandments, concerning graven images, and worshipping idols. In fact, most catholic buildings are full of graven images that are habitually prayed to.

Dee: I was sure that this mistaken idea had been put to rest some time ago. You were able to cite th erroneous idea and provide it via a link. Doing a little more research….to check for alternatives would have been easy enough. Roman Catholics do NOT worship statues/graven images. Idolatry is the worship of an idol as a holy entity in itself. Catholics do not do that. If a statue has any use at all, it is as a way of helping the prayerful to focus on their prayers.

dg, read. Statues are used as motivators to pray to dead people, thinking that these dead folks are gonna somehow intercede to God,  and bypass Christ. They even refer to Mary as The Queen of Heaven The catholic organization has given her deity status, and pray to her. That my friend is worship. You get your ideology from your own personal logic. You have said for years that your atheistic.  Now your disputing Scriptural TRUTH that you don't even believe. You have no credibility in such a discussion because you don't believe in anything other than yourself.
God Himself has warned man NOT TO CREATE GRAVEN IMAGES OF HIMSELF,  OR OTHERS.

You reject Christianity, and defend idolatry. What a confusing mess that must be.

More catholic idol worship  Lovin on a statue/graven image. Exodus Chapter 20 verse 4, Leviticus Chapter 26 verse 1

There are 100 Bible verses warning man NOT TO have GRAVEN IMAGES of God, Christ, or anything else in their worshipping. Catholicism violates Gods warning in spades.

Bill, care to set the record straight on my Bible Study from "years back"? My recollection is rules weren't being followed by 2 that  are still here, and I asked you to shut it down. Which you agreed, and did.

What seems to some, but isn't, can easily be cleared up. Bill has always been heavily involved in the forum rule making of any forum.

More catholic idol worship. A catholic kissing a statue/graven image holding a cross. Strange, and blasphemous, all in one.
I believe this one is a statue/graven image of Mary, which has been decorated with a crown. The Catholic organization has promoted her to  QUEEN OF HEAVEN. The catholic organization is not only given to bypassing Christ in their prayers, but handing out Heavenly promotions also. :-\

I will admit that from the perspective of an outsider who has never set foot in a catholic church and most of what I know or think I know comes from TV and movies, it does seem catholics worship idols and dead folks.

Mind you I am not saying that's how it is, I am saying it is how it seems based on how things are portrayed in movies and on TV and that is pretty much all I know of your church.

Truthfully since I am not catholic and have no interest in being I have made no effort to learn more than what I see on TV and in movies. Same as I make no effort to learn more of other groups or sects or whatever they might be properly called.

I do not have an ideology, at least not in the sense that it is for others . As far as logic is lol concerned, if the premises are correct so too wI’ll the conclusions be.
Credibility? I can read. The truth to which you refer has yet to be proven. My beliefs….your knowledge of my beliefs or lack thereof is incomplete at best.

The only time I've ever been in a Catholic church was to attend a wedding.  As I normally do when entering an unfamiliar building, I stop and take a look around, just inside the door.  My first thoughts were NOT of idolatry, but that there was an awful lot of guilt attending that church.  The money(s) that had been spent on the decor inside there was A LOT.
Can't say if ALL Catholic churches are that way, but if they are, seems there's a huge amount of guilt sitting in the pews on Sunday morning.

Just my opine.....Roger

You are making the word fit your meaning for this one Dee.

Worship
the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity.

The Mary BS did not come about till 350 A.D. and some current RC Priests think that too many other priests are trying to make her a 4 member of the Trinity.

Here is the DOCTRINE defended:

[urlhttps://www.catholic.com/tract/praying-to-the-saints][/url]

I think it is silly , as the Bible does say prayer by the living can have an effect, but some RC dude decided to add praying by the dead due to a line in
Revelations
