After reading the poll results about the factory 26" barrel's accuracy, I decided to purchase one in 223 Rem for cheap target practice and varmits.
A lot of people mentioned Ed's T/C as a good source so I contacted him by email. I found out his shop is here in OKC so I drove over to meet him. He's a very nice guy and his shop is so full of T/C stuff that there's no room to sit down. I mean he has a whole wall lined with barrels-well over 300 of them in all calibers.
He also has all kinds of wood, rings, bases, actions, entire guns and collectors editions.
It was strange walking into his little shop because there was nobody around. My girlfriend and I stood around for almost 10 minutes until Ed showed up. He had been visiting the folks next door. When I told him what I wanted, he left us there alone again. A few minutes later he returned with a barrel ($215), a Weaver base ($12) and two forend screws ($2).
He then showed me a little gadget he's getting ready to produce. It's an adjustable hinge pin. It's a three-part cylinder thing with slotted screws on each end. As you tighten the screws, the middle cylinder gets larger to take up any space in the barrel lug.
This gadget would really help those with multiple barrels.
Ed knows T/C's and will be helpful to anyone needing parts or barrels. He'll likely have whatever in stock.
Give him a try next time you need something, or even better, visit his shop!
You'll find yourself in a little 15X30 shop completely surrounded by T/C stuff-more than I've ever seen in one place.
