Were any WW II or Korea War 1911's issued in OD Green, or were they black/grey parkerized? 8)

Rustbucket - I've never seen an issue 1911 in OD green.  The parkerization is either grey or grey/black.  Maybe someone else has seen something different.  Mikey.

I have handled a lot of them between 66 and 69, and although my memory is not the greatest, I don't recall see any in that color either.

WW II Issued 1911 Finish?

Some of the military armory reworks had an OD finish. My issue 1911 was a Union Switch & Signal with the OD "Parkerize" finish. It wasn't very durable and after a few years of use, the green wore off on exposed areas. Sure wish I had that gun today!
