This is the place to post pictures of your shotgun.  Interestingly many people like to view the pictures...  Also please provide a description.
Thanks,
Doug

35Rem,
that is a great shotgun especially for the first post...  Thanks for sharing the pics.  Do you have the history behind your Model 11?

Not this one. Picked it up for a song, though. Guy had even put the Pad on it. I did have the stock refinished. I know, I know, but the original wasn't too great, but the wood is awsome, so I had it done. My grandfather's shotgun is a 16 ga Model 11, my dad shoots a 12, so I kinda started collecting them.

FWIW, I think you were right on the wood.  That is too beautiful not to refinish and show off.  Good job!

My turkey gun is just a simple turkey special 870.  I don't especially like it.  It kicks badly, is poorly balanced, and is not especially well made.  It's still got the original right handed safety on it so I have to adjust for that.  It's poor balance and stiff recoil makes it a bad gun for any other purposes.  I've been pondering selling it and buying a BPS turkey gun for the last couple of years but it keeps on killing.  On the plus side the gases don't get in my eyes like my other 870s did.  It also is light and easy to handle, which makes all the difference in turkey hunting.

This is the wife's turkey gun along with my 870.  It also serves as my loaner turkey gun for people who don't bring their own gun.  It's a Benelli SBE II, and seems to be a pretty good gun.  That recoil tech stuff works pretty well honestly, and it cycles everything from 2 3/4" dove loads to 3 1/2" turkey loads reasonably well.  It's not as reliable as a good pump, but it's a good second choice, and for turkey hunting cycling isn't an issue.

My favorite shotgun is this 28" Modified Model 12 with a Simmons vent rib.  It fits me well and it handles fast and points well.  I also like that it only shoots 2 3/4" shells so it shoots faster.  It draws all upland duty as well as duck hunts in the early season when the weather is nice.

Back in the 40's my dad bought this Remington double 12 from a guy for $10.00...  He shot a lot of deer with it, along with ducks, pheasants and other small game.  It had 30" bbls and was choked quite tight.

I have 4 brothers, and every one of us used this shotgun when we were kids, man we harvested a PILE of meat for the freezer with it!!   Over the years the stock became cracked, nails put in it, taped and glued with screws in it!!  Then one day my brother fired it with some snow in the end of one bbl, and buldged that bbl badly!!!  Dad took a hacksaw and sawed "that" bbl off, leaving the other one long.  For many years after that we fired the shorter bbl that had less choke for close shots, and used the longer "choked bbl" for longer shots!

By the time the 80's rolled around, i got the double from dad, and after a time i decided to "fix it all up"...  I cut the bbls even, at 27-5/8", blued the gun, and even put a nice piece of Claro walnut on it!!  One sear had sheared off the hammer, so i fixed that and also replaced all the springs in it, as one was broken and another had been repaired.

Trust me, it looks MUCH better than these picts are showing it here!!!

I saw this checkering on a shotgun, and i really liked it, so it went on my "old" Rem. too...

The last time i hunted phesants with this double, my dog flushed two roosters, and i made a double, a right and a left....  I picked them up, and went about 100 yards and my dog flushed another set of roosters, and i made another double, a right and a left....

Man, i love this old shotgun!!!

I guess trap guns are shotguns too, so here's what the wife and I shoot.
Krieghoff KS5 Spec. and Kolar

Have a few more I use for doubles or others we purchased along the way.

Here are my bird guns:

I am very carefull when hunting with my guns so don't mind if they look new, and they will stay looking that way. I've got a couple "not as nice" guns I use when it is raining or for in a duck blind. The bottom gun is a 12-gauge Winchester 23 Pigeon with 25-1/2 inch barrels with factory choke tubes. It was well worn when I got it so I had the stock refinished and the barrels re-blued. I use standard velocity 1-1/4 ounce handloads in it, 7-1/2's in the first barrel and 6's in the second. The top gun is an old Ithaca NID in 3-1/2 inch 10-gauge magnum. It has a late serial number so was probably made in the late 30's or early 40's. I had the stock refinished and added to recoil pad. I also had Briley shorten the barrels to 28 inches and add insert choke tubes. I shoot better on pheasants with the 10-guage. It's heavy but balances well for me. I can get it on target as fast as the 12-guage and once there, it stays on target. I generally use cylinder choke in the first barrel with 2 ounces of 8's and full choke in the second barrel with 2-1/4 ounces of 4's. It's difficult to miss close pheasants with the first barrel and one can get them a long ways out with the second barrel. The disadvantage of this gun is recoil. It takes a while to recover and get off a second shot.

It's nice to see such enthusiasts for shotguns. My shotguns are a bit more modest than most posted here. My buddy the shotgun buff gave me a stack of Shooting Sportsman magazines. If you like to look at pictures of really nice shotguns, it would be worth a one year subscription. I think it comes out every 2 months. The magazine specializes only in the finest of shotguns and the best ways to apply them. Lots of articles about the beautiful guns, their makers, and some hunting trips too.

Just picked this Remington M 10 up at a gunshow.  It was too nice to pass up.  Appears to have been shot very little.  Has a 28 inch full choke with a solid rib barrel.
