The Best Choice in a Mid Sized Affordable Spotting Scope

When choosing a spotting scope, optical quality is of course extremely important, however, size and weight are close runner ups. If it's too big and heavy and it's left behind the optical quality is meaningless. Most mid sized spotters are 15-45x65's, however, the Hawke Endurance ED 20-60x68 Spotting Scope stands out. It's the same size and weight of most mid sized 15-45x65's but gives you 20-60x magnification. It also features a 2 touch focus system to make sure your critical focus is sharp. When choosing a spotter the low end power is of no concern, however, top end magnification is what it's all about. The difference between the low end of 15x vs 20x will never even come into use, however, the significant difference between 45x and 60x is astounding. There are many options in mid-sized sub $1,000 spotters, however, the Hawke Endurance ED 20-60x68 Spotting Scope is an excellent all around full featured spotter, and in this price range we do not feel you'll find a better option.

Endurance ED spotting scopes provide the performance to get close to the action and the durability you demand.
All magnifications are constructed with ED glass reducing the potential for chromatic aberration. ED glass controls color fringing and allows an improvement in clarity and crispness of the image, highly recommended by nature enthusiasts.

All lenses are Fully Multi-Coated and prisms Dielectric Coated for increased reflectivity. Endurance scopes feature a dual focus knob (coarse and fine), 3x ratio eyepieces with twist-up eye cups and retractable sunshades.

The "best" choice is the one in your hands that is used, which is personal and unique to each of us.  I have two spotting scopes.  The one they offered to me as a retirement gift and later, a "higher end" Leopold I inherited when my hunting partner passed.  Neither of the scopes (IMO) is "all that" and I do not believe there is one even in the over $1K price point that would be "better" for me.  I hunt meat.  "Long range" isn't an issue.  Seeing holes in as well as resolution of lines on paper targets during load development and barrel accurizing is a GOOD thing through a spotting scope.

They work well.  They get me very close.  The glass is clear.  My shooting regime is working.  I am a Happy Camper.   :o
