Hey guys,
What is the twist rate on this bbl?  Will it adequately stabilize a 55gr FMJBT?
Remington and Winchester sell these little pills for $3-3.50 for a hundred, and I'd consider buying one if I could remain cheaply shooting.

The rifle chamber would be augered out to a 22 K-Hornet.

Thanks much.

Awf Hand,

22 Hornet is 1 in 12.

Other twist rates are listed in the FAQ that is a sticky at the top of the forum.

The 223 is 1 in 12 also and it does fine with the 55 grain bullets.  Speed and bullets dimensions have more to do with it then weight.  Some of the group have had fair success with, I believe, a 60 grain Winchester flat base in the 223 Remington.

awf -

the 55 gr fmjbt will stabilize but isn't a good hornet bullet for anything but ventilating paper.

my handi likes the 45 grain hornady spire points with H110. it also shoots the lyman 45 gr lead bullet with a gas check really nice. if you want cheap, you should be casting up some lead bullets. go get some wheel weights and a mold and have at it !
there''s room for all of God''s fauna and flora, right on my dinner plate!

awf hand
If you pay for shipping ($3.85 2-3 day USPS) I have about half a box of hornady 45gr "Hornet" bullets.  My 223's hate them but they're worth a try for that price.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!
