30 PPC Anybody tried it?

It's a 7.62x39 with 30 degree shoulder, fire formed. The body of the shell is the same as 6 MM PPC or 22 PPC-just necked out to 308. Since 7.62 brass is so plentiful and popular why not. Best combo is 1-12 twist with 125 gr-130 gr bullets.  I have shot bullets from 110 gr - 190 gr. If someone is interested I will give more detail.

This is one I have been thinking about for a cast bullet benchrest rifle. Sounds like the 30 Kern as well. Please let us know, I'd love to hear specifics. Do you have a chamber print? Who made your reamer? etc....

I use 6 mm or 22ppc head space guages. Clymer made the reamer-yes I have a blueprint. Hornady made the reloading dies. Originally I used a set of 300 Savage dies cut off about .500" to push the shoulder down and give it a 30 degree shoulder.  Brass is trimmed to 1.505". Then the shells were fire formed. It is an easy cartridge to make. Mr Warren Blake here in L.A. came up with idea, started the project and then turned it over to me about 3 yrs ago. I thing it's a great round for a pistol cartridge--single shot hunting pistol.

Dr. Lou Palmisano (Doc PPC himself) did a 30 PPC years ago and used it for deer hunting.   With a gain in case capacity, a 30 PPC offers increased velocity over the 300 Whisper.
