Antique Marlin Shotgun?
« on: August 03, 2009, 09:10:57 AM »
I just bought an old Marlin Model 19-N 12g. shotgun at a gun show, and I'm trying to find out more about it.  For instance, I've read that they were only made from 1906-1907, but the barrel has a patent from 1909.  It's missing an elevator screw, too, and I don't know if there's anywhere on the internet or otherwise that might sell a replacement for a piece this old.  Also, once repaired, would this firearm be safe to shoot?  The barrel is not damascus steel, and I still intend to have it checked out by a gunsmith.  Anyone that has any information on this old gun, I would love to hear it.  I called Marlin Firearms hotline, and they sent me here.
Thanks!
