Barrel Replacement?
« on: April 05, 2004, 03:25:28 PM »
Folks,  I am thinking of getting a longer barrel on my Marlin 336.  I want to stay with .30-30, just go out to 24 or 26 inches.  Can anyone recommend a gunsmith for this?  Thanks!

Winterhawk:  The Montana Rifleman makes barrels for leverguns to any length you want - I think they now go up to 38" but I'm not sure.  They rebarrelled a Winchester for me with a 26" tube and full length magazine tube and she shor is purdy.  In addition, they can rebarrel to any caliber your Marlin will handle, whether you choose to stay with the 30-30 or go for something else.

You can find them on the net at www.montanarifleman.com HTH.  Mikey.

Barrel Replacement?

Thanks Mikey.  I'll check them out.  I plan to get the rifle refinished(parkerized & black teflon, of course) so want to do the barrel work first.

Take care!

The Montana Rifleman may do all of that for you.  Check it out.  HTH.  Mikey.
