Howdy folks!

Anybody know how to convert the ejector on a Pardner shotgun to an extractor? I want to experiment using it for CAS shooting with all-brass shotshells and BP. (Would use my LeFever Nitro Special, but she's coming loose at the rib, and I don't have the gold dust to fix her right now.

)

I think Silver Vaquero posted this once on the old H&R Talk. There is a step in the ejector that has to be ground away. That sound you hear when you break it open and the empty flies out will be gone and it will just push your hull up far enough for you to grab it. Silver Vaquero may have saved the diagram, it is really a simple modification.

Hey guys, I'm doing some looking. If I can find the pic I'll post it here, that post was on the old site and guess what? Didn't save that thread.

Real simple conversion, just have to grind off the little step on the ejector with a dremel.

Attemp at your own risk, I'm not responsible for any accidents, deaths, missing eyes or what ever. Sounds harsh I know, just covering my butt.

Pretty crappy drawing and pic, but it'll do.

Drive out the small roll pin closest to the breech end and the ejector should slide out. Works best if the ejector is popped out, as it would be after ejecting a shell. It's under less spring tension that way, less chance of losing the spring. It'll still be under some spring tension so be careful not to lose the spring if it flies out.

MOST of all, watch your eyes! Wear safety glasses if you have them.

I used a dremel tool with a cut-off wheel to do about 10 of them, works great. Take you time and get it as close to square as possible. Shouldn't take much over 10 minutes start to finish.

No prob, I never have liked ejectors, convert mine all over. Takes about 5 minutes once you've done a few.

Here's a little pdf file on disassembly of the Ejector.

Be aware though, some newer guns have an additional tensioning, spring loaded "button" that I have yet to see in person.

Basic disassembly is the same though (or so I'm told), so just pay attention to how that button is positioned and all will be well...
