Guys,

Apparently the court has ruled in a 5-4 decision that we are required to identify ourselves to the Police even when they don't have Probable Cause.

One more characteristic of our free republic is gone.

note that there are two standards for police stops... probable cause and reasonable suspicion... to stop you (and ask you name, etc) they only need reasonable suspicion, which is a very weak standard. BUT, they can't detain you or search you based on reasonable suspicion... it's a somewhat muddled mess, but i'd be happy to find my criminal procedures book and send it to you :wink:

Does this ruling talk about or change the former Terry Stop Rule?

Local radio talk shows are espousing a conflict of interest with one's Miranda Rights to "Remain Silent". I imagine conflict in the future with the ALCU being heavily involved.
