Might sound silly but....

 Hey guys try this.
when im sitting QUIETLY! for a period [maybe 15-20 min] ill make sure there isnt any critters around in shooting range, rest my rifle on my lap, take one hand and russle the leaves quite loud at first then pause.
Then i will try to mimick the sound of o squirrel boundind from log to log, stop then mimick a little digging then pause.
rember when u pause to realy pay attention to the woods and listen to what might be comming in to ckeck out what is making this sound. ive had many difrent critters come to this. just my $.02

:winkit realy works well in a woods with fresh acorns droppimg and lots of squirrels in one area ,they are very scociable and competitive.. if you are pressed for time and its getting dark because you just got off work, well in my case it has proven to be more pproductive than not thats all. just trying to spruce up a slow hunt thats all.

Yes, it definately can work, and it's just one of many tricks I use myself.
