Model 36

I have a model 36-rc. S# either C or G (can't tell) 714. It has a pistol grip and a semi-beavertail forearm. Chambered in 30.30 and has a 20"barrel. What I am curious about is the words "Marlin Safety" on the top of the reciever. Any thoughts?

G prefix is a model 336, so your C prefix model 36 was made between 1937 and 1941.
