Since an
"Omega" IS A ML, your question is a little confusing. Also, "point of impact" is simply a term that means WHERE THE BULLET STRIKES. Most often we use the term "point of impact" in relationship to "point of aim" (which is a totally relative relationship). The whole reason for having ADJUSTABLE SIGHTS is to be able to adjust "point of aim" so that it coincides with "point of impact".
The "caliber" and bullet ballistics vary between different firearms and it is VERY RARE that you can change sights from one weapon to another without changing this relationship. Many factors are taken into consideration when matching sights for a rifle:
1. alignment of front and rear sights with bores "centerline"
2. height of sight above bore "centerline"
3. height of front sight blade
4. height of rear sight
5. adjustment range of rear/front sight for extended range shooting
When replacing the sights on a rifle with "new" sights ALL of these factors must be matched as closely as possible so that the "new sights" can be adjusted to coincide the "point of aim" with the "point of impact". The "point of impact" can change with a ML due to MANY FACTORS.
1. powder charge (and powder type)
2. weight and/or type of bullet/sabot
3. condition of bore (clean or fouled)
4. variations in muzzle velocity
5. relative humidity and (extreme) temperature change
So.... as you can see, the answer is most likely "YES! Your "point of impact" will change in relationship to "point of aim", but hopefully can be adjusted so they coincide.
