Hi guys
Am behind on my homework. Is the Wssm anything more than the Ackley conversion?

No.  It's a completely different case.

The 223WSSM is based on the 300WSM case.  It's necked down to .224 caliber, and shortened about an eighth of an inch.  Same with the 243WSSM and 25WSSM.  Necked down to the proper caliber, and shortened.

Some of the lighter bullets can be loaded to 4200 fps in this case.

Thanks Wlscott
I knew the Ackley used the same case and then was fire formed. Could be done on a .223 but was a tough job for the smith. Alot of shooters were suprised at the high level of accuracy when doing the fire-forming!
Almost had the Ackley done to my .22-250

Am thinking more of a handgun for the yotes. Perhaps a .223 Wssm in the T/C Encore. Dont really know if this is avalible.

I HAVE A 22-250 IMPROVED, AND I LOVE IT! IT,S NOT FOR HIGH VOLUME SHOOTING, BUT IT REACHES WAY OUT THERE FOR GROUNDHOGS!! VERY ACCURATE.
I CRONIED A RATHER HOT LOAD LAST WEAK, 4350FPS WITH A 40 GR. BALISTIC TIP. BUT IT STILL STAYED UNDR HALF INCH AT 100 YDS. IT WAS SHOWING SIGNS OF PRESSURE!!!!! AND I WILL BACK IT OFF A BIT.BUT THAT SHOWS WHAT IS POSSIBLEI,M SURE SOMETHING AROUND 4250 TO 4300 WOULD BE SAFE (IN MY RIFLE)
ANOTHER NICE THING ABOUT AN AI. IS THAT THE BRASS DOESN,T GROW MUCH AFTER FIRE FORMING ( I DONT LIKE TRIMMING ANY MORE THAN I HAVE TO!!!)
I HAVE THREE AND THERE MY FAVORITES!

Light weight bullets out of the .223 WSSM can be loaded to a lot higher velocities than 4,200 fps. with no signs of excessive pressure.  Lawdog
