Getting into turkey mode now, just finished bowhunting for javelina and now getting ready for spring turkey during May. That is a drawn permit rather than over the counter tag. We have been applying for a lot of years now and drew a tag for unit 6A for this spring.

Arizona spring turkey (any bearded turkey) is shotgun only.

The fall general season (any turkey) includes .22 centerfire but is also requires drawing for a permit. There is a fall archey season that is over the counter tag.

The regulations for next fall should be out around April.

even though the shotgun is my weapon of choice
.22 rim and center fire's are leagal here in va. (in those countys that allow centerfire rifles for hunting big game.)

Shotgun here in Bama.You can't use rifles here;but you can use pistols,.40 cal up w/no scope.You might as well take a slingshot than a pistol,unless your a much better shot than me :lol: Turk spring opens March 15 thru last day in April. 5 birds total (combined seasons fall-spring) gobblers only.Of course I've seen 40 or 50 birds durning deer season and only a handful of deer.So I'm sure it will be reversed in spring turks season

Here in Calif. you can hunt turkeys by archery, rifle, pistol, shotgun and the use of adult pellet rifles(magnum type - my personal choice) of at least .20 caliber. As far as caliber for the rifle or pistol goes .22 caliber is ok. Lawdog

As far as the Pennsylvania spring season, PA will let you use a centerfire or muzzleloading shotgun and compound or recurve bow with cutting-edge broadheads. You can use a rimfire or centerfire rifle or handgun, shotgun, muzzleloading rifles or shotguns, and compound or recurve bows, once again, with cutting edge broadheads during the fall season. There are a few catches, however. In certain WMU (Wildlife Management Units), you are only permitted to use shotguns and bows year round. And with shotguns...this might be nationwide but just to be safe....you must have a plug in a autoloading or pump action shotgun that limits the mag. to 2 shells hence only making your gun capable of 3 rounds. With shot size, no shot larger than No. 4 Lead, Bismuth-Tin, or Tungsten-Iron, and No. 2 steel. I hope this helps if you ever decide to hunt in Pennsylvania.

Hi in Ark you can kill 4 turkeys 2 in the spring shotgun or bow and 2 in the fall 1 with a shotgun and 1 with a bow or crossbow the season for bow or crossbow is OCT 1 to Feb 28 i have killed 9 with a crossbow over the yrs and 1 with my bow VM
