I have a Sig Sauer P220 in 45 ACP. Engraved on the side it reads:
Made in West Germany.
How old is this firearm ?
I thought that Sigs were made in Switzerland.

Not that I'am a sig history buff. I beleive sigs origins have always German. I wouldn't have the slightest on how old it is. I bought a new p226 in 97 that has made in Germany Engraved in it and the test fire target that came with it is in German.
