HR2D2, The oldest handloading book that I have is a lyman Ideal 34 made in 1940 and it doesn't give any loads either. It does give a special list of of Ideal Bullets. the 50-110-450 Win. uses a 450 grs cast bullet number 512138. It also lists the groove diamenter inches as .506. Twist of rifling is listed as one turn in 60 inches. It may have been loaded with Black Powder, but I don't know for sure.

Jim gave you good advice about checking it out with a gunsmith before you shoot it. I know this don't help much, but let us know what you find out Carl L.

Actually this is for a new rifle from Turnbull Restorations.  They will convert your 1886 to 50 Win Express or 450 Alaskan.

HR2D2, Do you mind if I ask what game you plan to use the 50-110-450 Win on? or is it to shoot for fun. Carl L.

I plan on using it for SASS side matches.  Just wanted to use something different than 45-70.  I reload and cast my own bullets and just wanted another excuse to buy new molds.
