Shot some heavy .454 Casull loads this weekend....
« on: May 17, 2004, 01:52:38 PM »
and man do they pack a wallop!!!  I was shooting 355 and 360 gr. cast and gas-checked bullets with 25 to 28 grs. of H110 behind them with a CCI 400 primer.  The 360's didn't do so hot out of my Encore, but the 355 gr. bullets shot real well at 50 yds. when I got 27 and 28 gr. behind the bullets.  I unfortunately do not have a chrony, so I can't report on velocities, but all of the cases fell out of the chamber when I opened it and tipped the barrel perpendicular to the ground, and no flattened primers.

Well I can tell you that 28g of H110 behind my 330g LFN nets around 1700 fps out of my 12" bbl.
