I was out planting some deer feed last weekend and saw a few but I have not been out yet myself. I loaded and dialed some 85 grain hollow points for my 243 and looking forward to it real soon.

I have gotten a few, but the farmers are just now starting to get the "first cutting" hay in around these parts.
   Can't see the 'chucks in a grown hayfield...

  As for rifle; I'm a rimfire fan, I like the extra challenge...

Same as ironglow. Farmers are having a hard time cutting the fields because it seems to want to rain every other day. Just starting to see some fields cut so hopefully will get out soon.

I mow the lawn at my gun club(4 acres).For entertainment,I let woodchucks go in the trap field and we shoot them at a later time.I let this one chuck go about 4 or 5 tears ago and I personally have taken maybe 35 shots at this chuck since then.This thing has cursed every chuck hunter at my club since I let him go.If you are driving by and let off on the gas,he runs in his hole.I have parked up the road and sneaked down the driveway and just had a small stone pop under mt shoe - and he's gone.One well educated chuck.But today,I smacked his a$$ :lol: . I shot him with my Marlin 39A with open sights at over 125 yards 8) .  He went about 10 pounds.I should have him mounted and displayed at the club.I used Wolf Match Target and my gun was made in 1952,pre micro-groove.  :wink:

Ken;
  Just goes to show everyone; power isn't everything....you smacked him with target ammo at about 125 yards...
  No; power isn't everything, but precision is!
     Good shooting Ken!

I belong to two gun clubs and the one I have belonged to for 25yrs it is against the rules to shoot any animals on the club property.  If you are caught doing so you are thrown out of the club!  The other club I belong is a small almost private club (Only 30 members) and I weed eat around the bench rest areas and target frames of the three ranges there.  Up there I know there are at least three different woodchucks but I like seeing them every once in awhile so I don't bother them.  This may seem strange for a dedicated woodchuck hunter but it is the way I am.
Good Shooting,
George

I have shot 18 so far this year. I will be looking to add a few more when the second cutting gets done on the fields I hunt.
