Welp i got a 36 cva bobcat coming my way next week sometime, its a long ways from the pedersoli 45 flintlock i wanted, what can i say,  wussyed out.Darn thing wouldnt fit in me gun cabnit anyho. The 36 is a percussion sidelock with a single trigger in 36,souldnt blow up the squirrels and the jackalopes as bad as a 45 im hopen. :)
Looked fer some 000 buckshot in .350 but found out ther aint much call fer that stuff around here, really too big for geese and buck shot aint legal here in Iowy.Did find some speer .350 balls, got 2 box.they sure are some little buggers but ert to give a tree rate a good rattle.
Got my 54 for deer and soon a 36 for the varments, what else could i neeed?Perhaps a 12 gauge for turkeys someday.

i figure i will have to order some from a local gun shop, aint nobody around carrys this size of buckshot around here.During shotgun deer season its slugs only,no buck shot allowed, and not many people have a need to reload with 000 buckshot fer anything else. Thus no demand for it so nobody keeps it in stock. :D

A .36 caliber round ball is about 65 grains, so you get about 107 balls to the pound of lead. You should get at least 500 balls in a 5 pound bag of shot.

For that price, why cast?

Here’s a trick that will work for all caliber pure lead round balls.

Multiply the diameter of your round ball by itself 3 times ( fer you smartypants’ that’s the diameter cubed ).  Next multiply the result by 1505.  What you get is the weight in grains.
So…  .350 X .350 X .350 X 1505 = 64.527 grains, darn close to “about 65 grains”.  There are 7000 grains in one pound, so dividing 7000 by 65 gets you 107 balls to the pound.

If you have a calculator with a cube root key going the other way is easy ( if you don’t, good luck ).  Say you’re shooting a 28 bore gun. Divide 4.651 by 28 and take the cube root of the result.  What you get is the bore diameter, in this case .550.  The roundball size to use is about .010 under bore size.  But that ain't what you asked.

I sort of wonder if the 000 Buck is as round as the 100 .350 Cal bought at the store.  I think that maybe the 5 pound weight of a bunch of lead balls being thrown around might make some of em not so round.

No experience with, but have heard that hollow based 38/357 wadcutters shoot fairly well in a 36

Now fellers shooten a bullet at them cottontails and squirrels would take the fun out of it for me.Put around 90 balls threw the 36 a while back.Didnt have any 3f so i used some 2f goex.Fouling werent really a problem and it shot darn good with 45gr of 2f.Used a precut .010 patch with my possuim squeezens on it.Next time out im gonna try some square patch material that a bought 6 yards of for my gpr.Now if i shot all that material in the 36 im probably gonna be set for life. :)  :D
