Where to Buy Ruger Old Army?$?
« on: June 27, 2004, 12:31:33 PM »
For my first C&B revolver, I think I'd be happy with a Ruger Old Army .45, 7 1/2" barrel, stainless, adjustable sights.

Where does everybody buy their C&B revolvers?  I would prefer to mail order it.

So far the best internet price I've found is $405, which includes shipping, from davidsguns.com.  That sounds incredible, since DixieGunWorks wants $550, without shipping.  Has anybody else dealt with davidsguns.com?

Thanks.

Some new, some not, but its a start, and less than $450.

This deal didn't pan out.  DAVIDSGUN.com has it listed at $405, but when I contacted them to buy one, they said because of 'market fluctuations' that a blued ROA was now $439, stainless ROA $459.

Auctions

Yep, there are some good prices on auctions, both new and used.

But I really hate to start bidding on something, and then the auction ends and you think you've bought the item, only to find out that someone else has won it.   :x

I don't like that and it's really out me off auctions.   :x

Its a shame so few carry adjustable sights, those are shooters.  The fixed sights are for plinkers.

Midway

Tried Midway - they don't carry the adjustable sight Ruger Old Army.

In fact, I was on the last screen to order one from Midway when I thought I'd better check the 'technical specs' and discovered I was ordering the fixed sight version.  Fixed sights must be in demand if that's what they carry.

Blackhawk is right about the sights.  I don't really want to have to use a file or hammer to adjust the sights!   :)

You're right about Midway tho - they have good prices and good service.

Thanks.     :P [/i]
