17 HMR in scoped hunter hand gun cal. group
« on: March 14, 2004, 01:55:28 PM »
I have seen some guns on the market in 17 HMR with 10 inch barrels with the term silhouette attached to the name. I guess since 22 mags are allowed in this class 17ers should also be allowed. But that mean nothing if they will not knock down the ram. Will they?

thanks

The 17 HMR is not an approved cal. for Hunter Pistol silhouette.

It seems like it will evenually be approved if it is effective. This round is all dressed up and no place to go.

cheers

Wouldn't it be great if this new .17 is better in the accuracy department than the .22's and it is approved.  Then we could all scrap our current equipment and spend lots of $ on new stuff to get back to where we were before!  Great idea for the equipment racers, and the equipment sellers. A big loser for the rest of us.
