I was reading an article in Outdoor life in which they tested 21 different bows. They gave rave reviews on the Reflex Grizzly bow. It was not super fast, but was supposed to be very comfortable, quiet and accurate. Best of all the bow is a steal at around $300. So does anyone shoot Reflex bows? Do you like them. That price is right in the sweet spot Im looking to spend. My other option right now is the new PSE Typhoon. Can anyone comment on which might be better for me (being a beginner)? I know the Reflex has split limbs, which I am lead to believe can be a little more harder to shoot as touqing is easier if your form is not right. Is these problems something I can work out with proper practice? I like the looks of the Typhoon, but if the experts of OL like the Reflex I would go with it too.

All Reflex bows are made by Hoyt. Soo they are just a cheaper version of the high priced Hoyt bows. Given they don't have all the features of a Hoyt either. But it still has the super smoothe and silence of a Hoyt. I work in a bow shop that sells both and I own a Hoyt but have shot a Reflex. I will agree they are nice bows. At a decent proshop you can have it set up and it will shoot at least as good as any other bow on the market. PSE makes good bows but I personally would choose the Reflex over PSE because after shooting both the Reflex just feels better to me. Shoot both before make a decision and choose what feels best to you. Good luck with your choice.

Thanks wvbowman04, I appreciate your post. Im not sure if my local pro shop carries Reflex bows (or Hoyts for that matter) but if I have to Ill travel to one a bit farther away to try them out. I still like the looks of the PSE, but if the "experts" of outdoor life thought the Reflex was a gem, then Im more than willing to give them a shot (so to speak :wink: .)

I SHOOT A REFLEX BUCKSKIN it is the best shooting bow ive ever owned you cant go wrong with these bows

Hey bud, I (like wv) Own hoyts. One of my first compound bows was a reflex extream and It was a real little gem. I dropped 8 deer with it before I made the jump to Hoyts. I never had a single problem out of mine for 3 years of hunting and much practice...By practice I mean I shot every day at least 50 arrows a day.. I guess I was a little obsessed..lol..I come from shooting Traditional and I had some hard habits to break such as having a natural cant in my form and things like that..Like was said above though...You wont know whats best for you untill you try them and see what fits you best...You could also try the new Hoyt magnatech...Its well within your pricerange also and its a dang good bow..I have been getting many good reports from the new cam and a 1/2 technoligy..They are quiet and very fast..I havnt had the pleasure of shooting one myself as of yet but I have seen a few on the 3d courses and they were quiet...Have a good one bud and good luck on your choices and hunts

cam69...... Its good to see another Hoyt shooter around. I got my Hoyt Razortek last fall. If you ever get the chance to shoot the new Hoyts you will fall in love. The first time I shot the Cam and half with the tek riser I had to check to make sure the bow went off it was sooo smoothe and quiet.

New Hampshire........ Everybody else is givin you great advice. The only way to know is to shoot every bow you can get your hands on. If a pro shop won't let you shoot a bow before you buy then find a new pro shop.
